I have served as a principal in Brazosport ISD since 2014. Prior to my appointment, I was a High School Science teacher, tennis coach, and High School administrator at Brazoswood and Brazosport High School. I have  been an Administrator in Brazosport ISD for ten years and I am starting my 18th year in education. I am a proud graduate of Brazoswood High School and Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi where I earned my Bachelors of Science degree in December 2000 majoring in Science and earning a Teacher Certification in the Sciences.   In 2005, I earned my Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston- Clear Lake.

Education is highly valued in my family as I am  the 4th generation to earn a Master’s Degree. I have two beautiful daughters and a handsome son. My family resides in BISD and my husband works for DOW Chemical. The area has been my home for over 36 years and I am a proud product of BISD. I firmly believe in serving the community and especially our students. I look forward to serving as the new Rasco principal for many years to come.

I am so excited to be joining the Rasco Middle School family during my 14th year in education! After teaching elementary music in New Mexico for 5 years, my husband and I moved to Texas. We lived in Snyder, which is about 80 miles south of Lubbock, where I taught 5th grade ELA, Science, and Social Studies for 3 years.  We loved Snyder, but when we had the opportunity to move to beautiful Lake Jackson we took it!  I am now starting my sixth year with BISD.  My first year I was the 5th-8th grade Math Interventionist at Clute Intermediate and have been Assistant Principal at T.W. Ogg Elementary the past 4 years. I am thrilled to once again be with middle school age students and am looking forward to meeting and working with the students, families, and teachers here at Rasco!  I have heard great things!

6th Grade Assistant Principal- Mr. Hoppock

Harland Hoppock is excited to join the Rasco family. He comes to us in his 19th year in education, previously serving in Pasadena ISD and Columbia-Brazoria ISD before coming to BISD in 2016.

Harland is a believer that school is more than a 8-4 job, it is a community. He believes it is his role to be a positive influence on the behaviors and actions of students, and to encourage and support them to be involved in school activities.

Harland’s education after high school began at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Tx. where he earned an Associate of Arts in Education. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University, followed by his Master’s in Education Administration from Lamar University.

During his spare time he enjoys travelling, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends. He has one son in college at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, and one at Brazoswood High School.
