Dr. Jose Figueroa, Brazosport High School class of 2001, was inducted Friday, November 2, 2018.
Dr. Figueroa received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston (Summa Cum Laude) in 2005 and then went on to Harvard Medical School, graduating with his MD and Masters in 2011. Dr. Figueroa completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham & Women’s Hospital Boston, MA. He was then named the 2014 Chief Medical Resident at Boston VA Medical Center in Boston, MA. He presently serves as an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA as well as the Lead Hospitalist for Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Dr. Figueroa has written and/or contributed to more than 20 medical research articles and professional papers. He has spoken at numerous conferences around the world on patient care, healthcare affordability and healthcare reform. Dr. Figueroa is a well respected physician and leader in the medical field. Dr. Figueroa's mother, Emilia Figueroa, is the lead custodian for BISD's Administration Building.
