A total of 232 students from across Brazosport Independent School District joined together on April 8th for the 3rd Annual Name That Book! Challenge. Student participants gathered at Freeport Intermediate School to show their knowledge of the books they have been reading over the past six months.
A total of 20 books were selected by BISD librarians to be a part of the “Great Texas Mosquito List,” for each grade level K-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-9 which will be the focus of questions asked in the challenge. Librarians selected the titles from a larger list nominated by students, teachers, librarians across the district as well as partnering with the public librarians Following the selection of books, campus teams were chosen and preparations began with students practicing before, during and after school for the competition.
The Name That Book! Challenge consisted of three rounds of questions related to quotes, characters, settings or keyword clues from the literature list.
